Forest Fuel
The
project "Standardization and Methodology for Forest Fuel Management in
Attica- Forest Fuel" was about the creation of a methodology for forest
fire behaviour forecast, with the use of special models and the
exploitation of new technologies. The target of this project was the better
prognosis (anti-fire planning, work towards the decrease in the danger
coming from vegetation, fire-danger forecast etc.) and fire repression
in Attica. This methodology was based on data on forest fuel in Attica,
its characteristics and its allocation.
The
Project Contractor was the National Agricultural Research Foundation (N.AG.RE.F.)
- Institute of Mediterranean Forest Ecosystems and Forest Products
Technology.
